  Overall this was a fabulous vacation...the location on the beach is exceptional and very relaxing. The house could use some general updating and clean up around the outside beachfront property...but once again, the location on the beach makes it possible to overlook a few problem areas.

  Porpoises and surfers playing all day outside the deck, fantastic sunsets over the water, and a lovely walk to the pier and coffeeshop. Ok a few odd hanging wires and non-functional light switches, but overall a wonderful vacation rental with great kitchen, plenty of equipment for relaxed cooking and hanging out with kids.

  We found this property at VRBO and dealt with the owners directly for renting it for the month of February (30 days). The rent was reasonable and the owners, Joann and Arthur, were very responsive to our needs. Now that the management has been taken over and the rate for next year has more than doubled, we will not be returning. Sorry, it's not worth $238.00/day. As a matter of fact, it's not worth $100/day when the upper unit occupants are entertaining and the sound of shoes and music transfers right through the floor, sometimes until the early morning hours. The unit is charming, but it's showing wear and tear. If I'm going to be paying Hilton prices, I guess we expect more.

  Hi-
  We loved our stay and will definitely return! You really can't beat that view and only suggestions would be to ask the cleaning ladies to clean the sliding glass doors (they were filthy). Also, the shampoo/soap dispenser and the light from the closet in the Lighthouse room were both not working. It would have been nice if there were other spices/condiments (sugar!) other than just salt and pepper. We almost ran out of soap and toilet paper, too! But those are small things and we truly loved our stay. I appreciated the nice knives in the kitchen and all the utensils, etc. Thank you!!

  We had a wonderful time at this beachfront condo in Oceanside. We look forward to staying there again some time. The beach is not crowded. We saw dolphins just off shore. It was very warm and comfortable. The beds were comfortable. Loved the washer and dryer. The following are some suggestions: Burnt out light bulb in entry, Not any adequate mixing bowls, no pitchers to mix juice or drinks in, parking for our full-size GMC Yukon was difficult and very tight to get into. Everyone had to get out before parking because there was only 6" of clearance on the passenger side and we could not back all the way in and let the drive out so we stuck out on the sidewalk...not sure much could be done there except maybe decrease the size of the garage and make it storage.....don't think you could even fit a compact car comfortably in the garage. A smaller garage would allow for more parking space.

  Overall great experience. Right on the beach. Floors were not as clean as i'd expect, but to be honest they quickly got sandy after one visit to the beach.
  Would really help if an onsite vacuum was available to vacuum the floors. The brooms do not do a good job at picking up sand.

  The house was wonderful. We are thinking of renting it again in 2013 for a week. Management was great the T.V. in one of the rooms didnt have sound so I called them and they were out at the house with in an hour and brought a brand new T.V. for the room that was great. The only thing the house needs is more bath towels and was clothes and a vaccum. we had great neighbors up stairs so the week was great. Thanks for a great week. P.S. the book in the house says the pier is a 1/4 of a mile away (NOT) MORE LIKE A MILE. and in the book it says to take the train to San Juan Capistrono to see the dolfins the town is not even close to the ocean but the town was great. We seen dolfin every day we were there even a sea lion.

  Pros- beautiful home, fully stocked, don't need to bring a thing (even an R/O system, crib, and high chair). Beach chairs in great shape, lots of toys for the kids already there. Breath-taking views make simply amazing memories. We even saw dolphins jumping straight in front of the glass nearly every day. Caught a glimpse of a seal too!!
  Cons- tried to check in early at the last minute- no one called us back, no one explained when the trash pick up days were, even though floors were mopped (still wet when we arrived)our socks were black on day one.
  Suggestions- maybe offering a cleaning service (for extra price) mid-week would be helpful, windex doesn't help the foggy glass but a nice hosing sure does :)

  This condo was located perfectly for privacy, yet close enough to the pier and activities. Most every morning dolphins were visible swimming umongst the surfers directly in front of our private beach. Oceanside is a great location to stay if you want a peaceful vacation with the availability to drive to attractions. Disneyland is only 1 hr away to the north, legoland 15 minutes, SeaWorld 45 minutes, and San Francisco 45 minutes to the South. We truly enjoyed our stay and would do it again.

  I thought the house was great but we had two minor issues we wanted to share. The windows in the back were filthy (I washed them) which made the view outside really bad.
  
  There were lots of lights that were out including the hallway, entry way and in the living room (we changed them).
  
  We had a really annoying sound coming from the air vent over the stove which was really distracting. It was the wind pushing air back into the vent which would cause it to knock.
  
  Other than that I thought the place was great and we will be using you guys again. I'd like to stay in one that is a bit more upscale next time. The smell in the house was a bit strong (musty and moldy) so we purchased some Fabreze which we left in the utility closet.

    UPDATE: This property has been Deep Deep Cleaned, walls have been painted, drapes have been replaces, all mildew under the sink has been repaired, and some of the bedding that needed it has bee replaced.

  Great location, phenomenal views, awesome stay for my family. Somewhat pricey but decent trade off for location and views. Only downsides were no screen on patio or front doors which had to stay open to keep the condo cool. Beach chairs and table were broken and in poor shape. Just minor concerns for the facility, but for what I paid would have thought those things were in better shape.

  Our overall stay in Oceanside was a great experience and a good time was had by all. Although, the actual property is in some desperate need of a really good cleaning and updating.
  
  For example the beach chairs....one of them is broken so every time you lean back in it the chair collapses and you’re lying in the sand. The lounge chairs are in pretty good shape but the other chairs and the fire pit should be replaced. The kitchen cupboards don't look like they have been washed down in quite a while (dirty) and the kitchen is not stocked very well. We couldn't even find a serving bowl large enough to make a salad in. It would have been nice to have a vacuum cleaner to run daily to help with getting the sand up off of the floor.
  
  As far as the location….you can’t beat the location. We enjoyed the location thoroughly. With a good cleaning and some updating this place has some potential of being a great vacation stay.

    Since Beachfront Only has taken over this property the guest comments have been very positive on cleanliness. The entire unit along with the cupboards have been deep cleaned. We have re-stocked the kitchen, adding serving bowls, platters and other kitchen items. We have added vacuum cleaners, mops, and more cleaning items to keep the property in the top condition it is given to them. Beach chairs are not supplied but the fire pit will be replaced as needed.

  We really enjoyed our time at this condo, which is located right on the beach. It was clean, well supplied and had all that we needed. There were only two minor drawbacks. One was that it was all tile floor and the other was that there was only one couch and love seat in the living room. We could not seat all of us at the same time and the floor was not comfortable without piling blankets on it. It would have been nice to have an extra easy chair and a few rugs, especially in the living room for greater comfort. Otherwise, this was a great place to stay and the maintenance people were responsive when we needed them for a couple of very minor things.
